Meet Chuck

Chuck Baumann, the proud owner of Creative Environments, has had a passion for crafting Backyard Environments since he was a young boy. His dad was also a custom pool builder, being one of the early pioneers of designing and building custom swimming pools in Contra Costa County, dating back into the 1950’s. Early on in Chuck’s building career, he realized that designing and building a backyard swimming pool was more about the “Lifestyle” and “Artistry” of how a water feature interacts with a family’s lifestyle and is an important part of the “Backyard Experience”. Each masterpiece that we create transforms the average backyard into an entertainment environment that the entire family can enjoy.

Chuck has been in the pool and landscaping industry for more than 60 years, and has built over 1,400 pool and backyard projects during his nearly 40 years of owning Creative Environments. The company is proud to have Nicco Baumann on the team as the 3rd generation of the Baumann family to take part in designing and building custom pools, carrying on a family legacy that began over 7 decades ago right here in the East Bay Area.

The pool Industry is constantly changing, especially over the past 20 years as major advances in both pool design and equipment have developed. Chuck and Nicco understand the need to stay up to date with current trends and advances in the pool industry, so each year they both attend and train along with other like minded “Master Swimming Pool Craftsmen” at several conferences around the country. Both Chuck and Nicco personally oversee each project that Creative Environments builds so that they can ensure the highest level of quality and craftsmanship are built into each and every project.

Chuck and Nicco also find value in staying active with in the industry organizations and associations, like the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, The PACE Education Master Pool Builder Group, The Carecraft Builder Professional Group and the Genesis Education Program for the top pool builders in the industry. By maintaining these association memberships and networking with other “Like Minded Professionals”, they strive to be the very best swimming pool contractor for each of their clients.

Chuck and Nicco personally walk you through the entire design and build process so you can feel comfortable with every decision you make while building the backyard oasis you’ve always wanted. You will meet with Chuck or Nicco during your initial consultation so they can personally learn and understand your family’s needs and style preferences to then incorporate all those desired features into your project. They then create a 3-D model of what your backyard oasis can look like. Once you approve the design, they implement it and construction begins!

Chuck and Nicco work hard to build relationships with their customers and enjoy seeing the family’s lifestyle change for the better as the project is completed.
